Raised in Southern Oregon, Katie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of San Diego and attended law school in Washington, D.C. at Catholic University, Columbus School of Law.

After graduating law school in 2007, Katie clerked for a D.C. Superior Court Judge, worked in a Maryland civil litigation firm, and worked for the Department of Defense, the nation’s largest employer.  Upon returning to Oregon in 2010, she worked as a deputy district attorney in Hood River and then joined a large workers’ compensation insurance company in 2015.  Her varied work experiences give her the perspective and training to navigate a wide spectrum of legal issues.

Additionally, Katie authored a chapter in the 2023 edition of Workers’ Compensation in Oregon, a resource for lawyers, and organized continuing legal education events for the Workers’ Compensation Section members while Chair of the Bench Bar committee.

Her experience of growing up in a small town and living in wildly different cities provided her the ability to connect with people from varied backgrounds.  As a parent of two special needs children, Katie is sensitive to the needs of others, and is adept at negotiating across the kitchen table and the conference table.
